Many organizations and government operations that traditionally depended on information derived from
paper records have become partially or wholly automated. As organizations migrate to an on-line environment, records in electronic form provide the basis for conducting business, serving the public, managing organisational resources, measuring progress and outcomes, and protecting their own and others’ rights. Records management is becoming increasingly dependent on technology. It is important therefore to have objective means of assessing the strengths and weaknesses of records systems and determining whether they are capable of capturing, maintaining and providing access to records over time.
This Programme is designed to improve development of records management policy in the organizations and government bodies enabling setting out a framework within which records and archives of the organization can be managed in accordance with statutory requirements and international standards to ensure reliability, authenticity, integrity and usability.
